Quality

Quality and verification

Three verification scopes — supplier, product and transaction — connect the material certificate to the inspection record and the shipped item. Certificates and material test reports are issued against the order.

Certifications

Registrations and compliance statements

Certificates are available to customers and prospective customers on request. The status shown is the current record; the certificate is the controlling document.

Verification scopes

Supplier, product and transaction.

Verification is not a single inspection step. It starts with the material source, continues through production and closes with the shipment record.

01

Supplier verification

Approved suppliers are assessed before first order and re-evaluated on a defined cycle. Material and process certificates are checked against the purchase order before release to production.

  • Approved supplier list with scope of approval
  • Mill certificates and heat-number verification
  • Sub-supplier NDE and heat-treatment qualifications
  • Non-conformance and corrective-action records

02

Product verification

Dimensional, material and pressure verification is performed against the order specification. Inspection and test plans are agreed at quotation for critical-service orders.

  • Dimensional inspection against ASME or project drawings
  • Positive material identification (PMI) on request
  • Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing where specified
  • NDE by qualified personnel — RT, UT, PT, MT

03

Transaction verification

Every shipment is traceable to the purchase order, material heat, inspection record and packing list. Documentation is issued with the shipment and retained for the required period.

  • Purchase order and item-level traceability
  • EN 10204 3.1 material certificates
  • Inspection release and packing list
  • Certificate of origin and export documentation

Material traceability

Every release is matched to a heat number and an inspection record.

Material certificates are checked against the purchase order and the heat number is carried through production, inspection and packing. For critical-service orders, the documentation package is agreed before release and reviewed at shipment.

  • EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates on request
  • Heat-number marking and traceability
  • Positive material identification (PMI)
  • Hydrostatic and pneumatic test records
  • NDE reports from qualified personnel
  • Certificate of conformity and packing list

Typical order documentation package

  • 01

    Material certificate

EN 10204 3.1 or 2.2, matched to heat number.

  • 02

    Inspection record

Dimensional, visual and NDE results against the ITP.

  • 03

    Pressure test record

Hydrostatic or pneumatic test where specified.

  • 04

    Certificate of conformity

Statement of conformity to the order specification.

  • 05

    Packing list

Item, quantity, marking and shipment reference.

Inspection and testing

Checks matched to the product and the order.

Not every order needs every test. The inspection and test plan is agreed at quotation so the release criteria are clear before production.

Dimensional inspection

Bore, face, bolt circle, thickness and overall dimensions checked against the applicable ASME or project drawing.

Positive material identification

Alloy verification by X-ray fluorescence on request, with results recorded against the heat number and line item.

Hydrostatic testing

Pressure testing of nozzles, expansion joints and pressure expanders against the specified test pressure and hold time.

Non-destructive examination

Radiography, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle examination by qualified personnel to the order NDE plan.

Spray performance verification

Flow rate, spray angle and pattern checked against the published curve for spray nozzle orders on request.

Seal material verification

Durometer, compression set and material certificates checked against the compound specification for sealing products.

Reference standards

The applicable edition is confirmed on the order acknowledgement. Project specifications may supplement or supersede these standards.
